Mohammed Al Arousi adapted this tale from the Tunisian heritage and folk tales. It’s a love story between an orphan boy who lost both his parents (Khaled) and his cousin (Khadeeja). Their love story started when they were children and as it grew, the peach tree they planted together in the yard grew with it. They were in heaven until Khadeeja’s father knew about their relationship and tore them apart.
The storyteller’s name is Al Fedawi: He’s a storyteller, poet and singer. The way he tells and performs the story is nostalgic and takes you back to days gone by and raises questions about the eternity of love once its soil has dried and no one is left to water it.
